The Martha Brook Sample Sale: FAQs

The good news is our legendary sample sale is almost here! The better news? It’s bigger than ever. So, no matter if you’ve been with us since the days of our first sample sale, or you’re brand new here, we thought it would be helpful to answer some of your most asked questions about the sample sale and how it all works before we go live on Monday 17th June at 6pm

When is it?

Pen and paper at the ready! On Monday 17th June at 6pm, you’ll be able to shop our biggest sample sale yet via this link here (it’s empty…for now!), with hundreds of stationery goodies up for grabs. Don’t worry, you won’t be able to miss it as we’ll be shouting about it from social media, especially our Instagram where you can sign up for notifications, and on our website too!

Where is it?

The sample sale is now hosted on our website. We used to run this on IG stories back in the day, but after your feedback, we thought it would be easier for you to shop the samples straight from our website, where we have a dedicated sample sale category instead. It’ll be easy to find, but if you’re in a hurry to bag yourself a bargain, you’ll always be able to find it here on our homepage…

Are the items damaged?

Everything you’ll find in our sample sale are items that are in near perfect condition and perfectly useable. Our samples may have been used in photoshoots, or have been made in error, for example made in the wrong colour. Any damage or info about the product we include in the description of the product, so please make sure to read this carefully before you place your order!

Will there be any non-personalised items included?

Most of the items that are included in the sample sale have previously been used for photoshoots as props or made as a mistake, for example, the wrong name, product or colour, so most are already personalised. It can be quite fun hunting to see if a product has your name or a friend’s name, which will make a lovely gift.  There are also some items you can personalise this time! Look out for the ‘personalised me’ roundel and be quick to grab them.

Can I order more than one item?

You sure can! We often have people using the sample sale as a brilliant opportunity to buy gifts for anyone and everyone they know! You can either buy items together or separately. If you buy them separately, we will endeavour to ship them together to you. Please do bear in mind that holding an item in your basket doesn’t reserve it, it is only yours once you have successfully placed your order!

How will I know what personalisation is on the product?

Each listing will have an accurate photo that will show the product, the personalisation and colour of each item, as per the example below. We also include the colour and personalisation in the title too, so you won’t need to click on each item to check, you can just scroll until you find your name! We have a select few items which you can personalise, so look out for the ‘personalise me’ roundel on these!

Is there more than one item of each?

In some cases, absolutely! We do have quite a few non-personalised items going into the sample sale this time round that we have more than one item of. But mostly, there is just one of each item.

Do I have to pay for postage?

Postage to the UK is free of charge but we do charge a little extra for delivery to Europe or for the rest of the world! Shipping is calculated at checkout when all your items are in your basket.

How likely am I to get the item I am after?

Our sample sale is extremely popular, and holding things in your basket doesn’t quite work for our website unfortunately! We’re working on little website improvements to make this process smoother, but for this particular sample sale, the only way to know you’ve “got” an item is by successfully checking out and placing your order. The following day, we go through and remove the out of stock products so it’s easier for you to see what is available.

Can I add extra personalisation?

The items that can be personalised will have a text box on the product page so you can enter your own personalisation in. Most items are already personalised, and cannot be personalised further.

I don’t live in the UK, can I still take part?

For sure! We ship globally so you can take part no matter where in the world you may be! Postage is free to the UK but there is a small shipping cost for Europe and the rest of the world, which is calculated at checkout. 

Please note we cannot be held responsible for any charges/customers incurred once the parcel has left our West London studio, so if you are based in the EU, please do check if Brexit has had an impact on goods coming into your country.

When will I receive my items?

Mainland UK: Your order will be sent by standard delivery and you should receive your item/s within 7 working days.

Non-mainland UK: Your order will be sent by standard delivery and you should receive your item/s within 10 working days.

Europe: Your order will be sent by standard delivery and you should receive your item/s within 10 working days.

Rest of World: Your order will be sent by standard delivery and you should receive your item/s within 14 working days.
