Martha’s Journal: A day out at the London Stationery Show 2025
May 19Martha here, founder and chief stationery maker! This is another entry in my journal, a chance to tell you what I’ve been up to, behind the scenes here at Martha Brook. Today, this is a rather special entry as I take you with me to the London Stationery Show 2025.

The London Stationery Show 2025
A whole show just for stationery?! That’s what people say to me when I tell them I’m off to London Stationery Show! Yes, two whole days filled with the most gorgeous paper goods and unique stationery finds. If you’re a stationery nerd like me, this is the dream!

And this year, I was lucky enough not just to be asked to go, but also to be asked to speak at this unmissable event for stationery and gift retailers! On the most beautiful May day, it was already a joy to be out of the office and heading across London to the Business Design Centre in Islington. Once I was off the tube, the streets were buzzing with people sitting outside cafes in the sunshine, and that happy feeling you get in London when people feel like summer is finally here.

Walking up to the event, I spotted the familiar curved facade of the Business Design Centre. If you’ve never been there before, it’s a beautiful Grade II listed event space with a high barrel-vaulted roof that brings in loads of natural daylight, and has been the location for the London Stationery Show for many years now. Arriving here always feels like home to me.

Inside, the organisers bill this as ‘the biggest selection of writing and paper products from around the world’, so I was super excited to see the independent brands they’d curated this year and discover some beautiful products.
I spent a glorious few hours chatting to business owners, retailers, and stationery fans, and watching pens being demonstrated (only true stationery lovers will relate!). Some of my favourite stands included the innovative accessories from Makers Cabinet, feathered pens from Jaffé Feathers, and calligraphy sets from Tom’s Studio.

It was soon time for my session, so I headed to the Talks Theatre, where it was a joy to meet people who’d been following Martha Brook on Instagram for years, or come back to see me talk after hearing me last year!

This year, I spoke on ‘Mastering impactful video content for your brand’, something you may know I am incredibly passionate about. Short-form video across platforms like Instagram and TikTok can be transformational for small brands, and it’s one of the things I’ve been helping businesses with through Business Secrets Club over the last year!
For example, here are some behind the scenes from my day here on our Instagram:
All in all, it was a thoroughly brilliant day. London Stationery Show, I will be back! See you there next year?!
