6 life lessons Matilda’s Miss Honey taught us
Education is important
The first life lesson Matilda’s Miss Honey taught us is that education and knowledge are things that should be valued highly. With the likes of Mr and Mrs. Wormwood as parents, the selfless Miss Honey saw Matilda’s giftedness and helped to nurture her through education when no-one else would. A breath of fresh air at Crunchem Hall, Miss Honey reminds us how important knowledge is to behold.

Size means nothing
No matter if you’re big or small, little or large, Miss Honey is a big believer that size means nothing. You can achieve great things if you put your mind to it and a lesson well learned by Miss Trunchbull is in fact it’s a darned thing to underestimate somebody based on their size. The children at Crunchem Hall might be little, but they are tough and you’ll think twice about crossing them!
Being different is a good thing
Miss Honey taught us we should never shy away from being ourselves, and being different is what makes us unique. Embracing what separates you out from the crowd means you can celebrate being extraordinary and achieve brilliant things with a little bit of self-belief and courage.

You have to stand up for yourself
Next up on our list of life lessons Matilda’s Miss Honey taught us is standing up for yourself. Sometimes life isn’t fair and people can be mean, and it can be difficult but it pays to have the courage to stand up for yourself and what you believe in.
Being kind is key
Miss Honey taught us that approaching everything with kindness, even when people aren’t so kind to you is important. Just because something hasn’t gone your way, or someone has been nasty doesn’t mean you should stoop to their level. Treat everyone how you wish to be treated yourself.

Sometimes it’s okay to be a little bit naughty
And lastly on our list of life lessons Matilda’s Miss Honey taught us is that sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes it’s okay to be just a little bit naughty. There’s nothing wrong with having a mischievous streak and misbehaving from time to time, if you can justify it!
