I had a chat with my mum today, and she said it was actually my dad who got me really into journaling when I was little! He used to draw pictures in them for me before I could do it myself (that boat on the 1987 one was one of his! 🥰) He LOVED my gap year diaries - I also sent illustrated letters home, all of which he saved for me! (Oh, Dad, you’d have loved this! 💔)

My journals now are a bit different… more about future goals, but I’ve always found journaling makes me feel calmer, happier and more focused. 💕

✨ YOU ARE ENTIRELY UP TO YOU ✨ It’s A Level, T-level and BTec results day today, and we can remember all too well how nerve-racking it was waiting to open those envelopes! I remember holding mine in my hands and being literally too nervous to see what was inside.

So for anyone in that boat, I want to tell you two things...

No exam, course, or job is ever final. I did science A Levels, science at university, and I now run a stationery company!

I’m a great believer that life is a set of experiences, and you should chase whatever sets your heart on fire, even if it may look like a strange tangent to others. It’s right if it feels right to you. 💖

When I quit my career a decade ago to start Martha Brook, my Mum was horrified and said ‘you’ll never make a living from selling cards!’ but hey, here I am.

Never ever let anyone tell you that your dreams aren’t valid.
