At Martha Brook, we believe the little things make the biggest difference. From the way we make our products to how we champion the things we love and believe in, these are our core values that truly matter to us. They sit behind everything we do, every conversation we have and every decision we make to make Martha Brook a little more joyful and meaningful along the way.
Love our planet
Taking care of our home is so important and we believe our stationery should be made to be loved, used and kept!
We're always on the lookout for ways to make more thoughtful choices, from creating refillable and reusable products to donating notebooks to In Kind Direct, our partner charity who distribute goods amongst community centres, schools and shelters.
We're also FSC-certified meaning the paper and card we use is sourced from responsibly managed and sustainable forests. Our 'Love Our Planet' ethos extends out to our lovely team too who we encourage to work from home where possible too!
Kindness, always
Kindness is at the heart of everything we do here at Martha Brook.
We believe there's magic in making someone's day even just a tiny bit brighter, especially as spreading kindness comes free to us all. We include a free hand-illustrated postcard in every order to encourage you to look after yourself (we change these seasonally!) and also share these as free downloadable PDFs. We're thrilled to hear that our free self-kindness checklists have popped up on the walls of school classrooms and NHS waiting rooms across the country!
Close to home
We're proud to hand-illustrate and design, personalise and pack our products from our lovely studio down in Dorset, UK.
Keeping production as close to home as we possibly can helps us to build wonderful relationships with the people who make some elements of our products whilst supporting skilled British businesses to boost the local economy. We also recently moved our studio from London to Dorset, where our products are created, so we can be closer to the people who help us bring Martha Brook products to life and reduce the emissions from shipping those items up to us.
Small businesses, big love
Small businesses are a big part of who we are, after all Martha Brook is one!
We're passionate about championing the brilliant people behind small businesses, far and wide. From Martha's own educational platform, Business Secrets Club, to Small Business Saturday in December, where we shine a light on small businesses who're doing things a bit differently during the most competitive time of the year, we love shouting about little and lovely businesses across the UK.
Keeping pen & paper alive
It's no lie that we are paper people, and if you're here, we're guessing you are too!
But for us, it's about more than stationery. It's about those lovely little analogue moments and the connections they can create. Whether that's writing a letter to someone you love (or a total stranger under our Lovely Letter Exchange initiative), putting your thoughts down on paper to getting lost in a really good book. We love creating little ways for our community to connect and make the most of those offline moments that seem to be becoming rarer and rarer. In a world that's constantly switched on, we think there's something really rather special about switching off.
