As self-proclaimed book lovers, we’re ever-so-slightly obsessed with following our favourite book influencers out there. From bookstagram to booktube to booktok, there’s a whole corner of the internet that is dedicated purely to a shared love of literature and the endless bookish content has us spending hours lusting after their latest read, when in fact we should be buried in our own book! So, if you want to find out which book influencers we’re loving at the moment and want to add to your TBR, read on!
First up on our list of our favourite book influencers to follow is the wonderful Sofia, who writes beautifully and honestly about her current reads. Inspiring us to read a wide range of novels not only of books we’ve seen doing the rounds on Instagram and Tik Tok, but newer titles too. Sofia also talks about academic life, motherhood, and the Islam and Feminism Critical Reading Group she runs too. And, if you’re based in Leeds, lucky you! @sofia_reading has her very own book club, co-founded with her friend, Naveed, called Leeds Lit Club.
If you’re not following Lauren from @doingitbythebook, you’re missing out! Aesthetically pleasing to the eye, her colour co-ordinated book spreads literally have us drooling over our phone screens. We love Lauren’s recommendations so much, she’s partially responsible for our outrageously long TBR lists…
With a bookshelf like no other, (yep, we have huge bookshelf envy) @thehelsproject is hands down one of our favourite book influencers to follow if you’re ever-so-slightly bookish like us! Not only are her photos so warm and cosy and have us totally ready to hunker down with a cuppa and a great book this Autumn, she tabs her books with colour co-ordinated notes! It goes without saying that we’re obsessed with her use of stationery and books!
We love scrolling through @bookishwithb feed because it’s like being on facetime with your friend and chatting all things books. Celine’s Tiktok is a great mix of honest takes on the internet’s current favourite books mixed in with recommendations for your next read and funny insights into her opinions on some of Booktok’s favourite titles and characters.
If you’re addicted to Tiktok like us, and love reading too, then @convertingtobooks is one to follow. Kya takes all the best Tiktok trends and makes them bookish, so funny and relatable! We’re also eyeing up her book tabbing system where she matches her tabs to the front cover of her book, and yes, it is exactly as satisfying as it sounds!
@amyjordanj is one of our favourite book influencers for recommendations depending on your mood, whether you want the perfect plot twist, something to get you out of a reading slump or to have your heart shattered into pieces, because some of the best books are the ones that make you cry! Her Tiktok is full of lists of her favourites and she always gets it right – we love her ‘books I wish I could read again for the first time’ series!
If you like books and flowers, you’ll love Beth from @beeblossombooks! With an incredibly creative range of reels, you can pretty much find exactly what you’re looking for just by scrolling down her feed. From books with amazing settings to books you need to read before the end of summer, it really is no wonder that Beth was shortlisted for the Bloggers Book Prize 2022!
@Zubscovered grid is like walking into a bookshop where everything feels totally tailored and the recommendations always fit what you’re looking for! Just filled with great books and fun reels with recommendations fitting every mood, genre, time of year – you name it and Zubs has probably read it, and will have a recommendation for something similar you’ll enjoy too!
@what.naomi.reads Instagram account is seriously drool-worthy. Books really have never looked so good, and they don’t just look pretty but she also gives great reviews about what should be next on your TBR! She also has a very satisfying rainbow bookshelf that is making us want to go and colour-coordinate our own ASAP.
Book lovers at Martha Brook have loved following Poppy from @poppysreads for quite a while now. Featuring hilarious reels about the struggles only book lovers can relate to, her authentic reviews have us compelled to drop everything we’re doing and go buy that book she’s reviewed, like this very moment. And we’re totally onboard with her pastel-coloured tabs to make notes in her current read.
And last up on our list of our favourite book influencers you need to follow in 2022 is the lovely Marcela from @marcereads. With endless recommendations, highlighting books to help get you out of a reading slump, @marcereads is a must-follow for any book lover who is looking for their next read and isn’t sure where to start! Don’t miss her hilarious memes!
We hope you love our favourite book influencers as much as we do and enjoy following along! Are there any book influencers we need to know about? Please do share in the comments so we can hit the follow button!
