Behind the scenes
Our Christmas Styling Tips
Dec 10Here at Martha Brook, we LOVE Christmas! In order to begin celebrating the happiest time of year as soon as possible, we put our tree up on the first day of December (below – doesn’t it look so pretty?!) and have been adding some more festive touches ever since. Keep reading to find out how we decided to decorate the tree this year and our top Christmas styling tips.
We always buy a real tree, you just can’t beat that pine tree smell. To add even more of a festive touch (and to make the tree very ‘us’), we subtly flocked the tree with artificial snow. Our colour pallet for the decorations was pink (obviously) – this year a pale rose pink and warm metallic tones, in particular copper, which contrasts beautifully with the green tree. The first step was to wrap the trunk from top to bottom in stings of pale pink beads, which creates depth and a pretty sheen. Then we added a fabulous gold glittery starter topper.
Next we added a collection of copper, rose gold and pink baubles as well as our own Foiled Glitter Star Christmas Decorations. Production Assistant Edlyl made everyone in the team one with their name on. To stick with the warm metallic theme, they were foiled with our copper foil and strung with pink ribbon. Each team member hung up their star on the tree which really helped the tree come together beautifully.
We love our Martha Brook tree, but understand that not everyone has a pink home so here are our other styling suggestions. Our personalised decorations come in a huge selection of ribbon colours (white, grey, light pink, bright pink, red, blue, green, silver, and gold) so they’ll match any home. We think that the green, red and metallic options (below) would look wonderful on a traditional tree, whereas the silver, grey or blue work really well in a cool scandi style home.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a tree, the decorations also look wonderful when used as gift toppers, hung up with stockings or used as personalised place settings on the Christmas table. We have even used them to create our Alternative Crackers this year (below). There are so many options with these beautiful ornaments!
We hope that you feel inspired to decorate your home this Christmas, don’t forget that a touch of sparkle makes all the difference!
