Today is International Women’s Day, which is all about celebrating women’s achievements, calling for greater equality and inspiring women around the world to #MakeItHappen. Two of the focuses of the day are on getting more women into senior leadership roles, and growing women-owned businesses – two things I feel passionately about.
Parliament held a debate in the House of Commons this week in support of the day. Our local MP Mary Macleod, who is a big supporter of empowering women, attended the debate and we were honoured to hear her mention me and Love Give Ink as an example of women in business in her constituency! You can hear part of Mary’s mention here on parliamentlive.tv.
