With picnic season at our door, there’s no better time to start thinking about how you’ll make the most of this summer with the beautiful array of gardens the UK has to offer. With their beautiful flower displays, calming lakes and charming walled gardens, we really are spoilt for choice with gardens in the UK. Trebah Gardens – Falmouth, Cornwall

No matter if you’re based in Cornwall or are heading there for a lovely staycation, Trebah Gardens is hands down one of the nicest gardens in the UK. A sub-tropical paradise, you’ll soon be immersed in lush plants that tower above you. With a beautiful bridge across a lake and their very own beach, Trebah Gardens is well worth a visit.

Helmingham Hall – Stowmarket, Suffolk

Next up on list of the nicest gardens in the UK is Helmingham Hall in Suffolk. The gardens surround a historic stately home (with it’s own moat no less) and are such a delight to indulge in. Discover each garden as you walk around this impressive estate, but our personal favourite has to be The Apple Tree Walk during blossom season – a sight not to be missed!

Holland Park – Kensington, London

Whilst gardens may not be the first thing that comes to mind when we think about London, there are quite a few green havens amongst our busy city which we call home. Nestled in the middle of the stunning Holland Park is Kyoto Garden, an immaculate and peaceful Japanese garden boasting a tiered waterfall and stepping stones. See if you can spot Holland Park’s famous peacocks that strut around Kyoto Garden from time to time!

Bodnant Gardens – Conwy, Wales

With a breath-taking rose garden, you can also explore 80 incredible acres of formal gardens and woodland and really make a day of it. Whilst you’re there, keep your eyes peeled for picturesque views of the mountains.

Wakehurst Gardens – Haywards Heath, West Sussex

Wakehurst Gardens is a wild botanic garden, part of Kew’s Royal Botanical Gardens and is home to the Millennium Seed Bank. With over 800 acres of land, serene ponds and stunning walks on offer, Wakehurst Gardens is home to the world’s largest seed conservation project. Based in the heart of rural Sussex, the Millennium Seed Bank boasts an underground bunker of over 2.4 millions seeds from around the world, keeping them safe and sound for the future. That’s a lot of seeds!

Kew Gardens – Kew, London

Talking of Kew…we couldn’t miss out our local! One of the loveliest gardens in the UK, Kew Gardens is a bucket list garden for sure and one that must be ticked off! A unesco World Heritage Site, take a walk around the impressive Temperate House, the world’s largest Victorian greenhouse, or take a walk along the Rhododendron Dell, bursting to life. We promise, it won’t disappoint!

Arundel Castle – Arundel, West Sussex

Arundel Castle and Gardens is such a delight to visit! With their jaw-dropping labyrinth constructed of tulips which is a feast for the eyes in spring, these award-winning gardens are truly a joy to behold. With sweeping banks of flowers against the backdrop of the castle itself, Arundel Castle and Gardens is definitely one to visit this summer.

Blenheim Palace – Woodstock, Oxfordshire

Sissinghurst Castle Garden – Cranbrook, Kent

And last but most certainly not least on our list of the nicest gardens in the UK is the delightful Sissinghurst Castle Garden in Cranbook, Kent. Fittingly called the Garden of England, Kent has an abundance of stunning gardens but Sissinghurst Castle Garden is not to be missed. Listed Grade I on Historic England’s register of historic parks and gardens, Sissinghurst is a quintessential country garden originally crafted by author Vita Sackville-West and her husband, Harold Nicholson.
